Palisade Fencing in Cape Town and surrounding areas
This is normally made from 25 x 25mm or 30 x 30mm Angle iron and has gaps of not exceeding 150mm, depending on the client’s specific need.
There are one or two things that I normally ask my clients when they request palisades.
- What is the purpose of the fence?
- Do you want to keep dogs in or out?
- Do you want to keep unwanted people out?
- Is it for security purposes?
- Is it just for decoration purposes?
Questions like the above will determine the height of the fencing and the gaps between palisades. It will also determine the size of the material to be used. The norm here is, that the lighter material used, the cheaper it is to manufacture.
Height
I normally suggest heights of 1, 5m, 1,8m or 2,0m. Reason for this being that steel comes in 6m lengths and this way you get the least off cuts. In the end the client pays for off cuts.
Finishes
It is advisable to galvanise palisades to prevent rust. It can be epoxy coated or painted to any colour of your choice; however I normally advise clients to just galvanise and leave it. Then it is truly maintenance free. All other finishes require a degree of maintenance.
